Etsy shopping with Crickets Creations

I just adore handmade items such as jewellery, pottery, clothing etc. After our recent trip to Tasmania, I realised how ill equipped my husband and I were in terms of scarves and woolen beanies. In Ross, I did manage to buy myself a black, hand knitted beanie with coloured flecks throughout and I already had one scarf I have had for a few years which served me well on our trip.
My husband does not have a scarf and it was this which prompted me to look online to buy one for him. My first thought was to try Etsy as they specialise in handmade articles. There were HUNDREDS of scarves of all styles, materials, colours and lengths but I am most particular and any scarf I was going to buy for my husband, had to have a very special quality as well as look great.
I soon came across one particular seller, Crickets Creations, whose work was especially attractive to me. She had exactly what I was looking for: unique designs, beautifully textured, light warm scarves with a divine mix of colours.
One scarf which stood out was described as ‘Satin-Soft Hawk or Owl Handknit Ribbon Scarf with Feathery Accents’. My husband is a Shaman and Celeste’s description of the yarns she used appealed to me immensely – it was EXACTLY what I was looking for!
All ribbon scarves are made with a textured center to caress the neck and this one is especially scrumptious! Owls are one of my favorite animals and this scarf is the colors of a regal, great horned owl. *sigh*
This delightful scarf boasts a feathery, multi-colored yarn at the neck, ends and fringe & includes dark brown, burnt orange, bronze, tan, black and more throughout. And then I added even more classy, bird-colored yarns in the ends and fringe; chenilles and velvets and terrycloth-type yarns.
This was the perfect scarf for my husband and as I was so thrilled with this find, I also had my eye on a scarf for myself from the same seller. Yes, I ended up buying two from Cricket Creations!!!
These scarves are truly exquisite and the colours are sensational. No photo can do these works of art the justice they deserve.
